Windows Tweaking Utility is a trojan so do not expect it to come with an uninstaller. In order to make it that much harder for you to remove it, Windows Tweaking Utility blocks and disables your programs including your anti-virus. In order to remove Windows Tweaking Utility, you need to work around its blocking ability as follows:

  1. In Windows, click on Start and select Run. Type 'shell:appdata' without the quotes. This will open your Application Data folder.
  2. Locate any executable file with a random name, example ktsfda.exe (this file will be located directly in the Application Data folder).
    Right-click this file and choose 'delete'. Make sure that you do not open any sub folders of Application Data, stay in the main folder.
  3. Bookmark this page, you may need to refer back to it after computer restart (see next step).
  4. After you successfully delete the above file, restart your computer.
  5. Once you are able to delete the above file and restart your computer, you should be able to run your own anti-virus program to remove Windows Tweaking Utility. Update your existing anti-virus program and run a full system scan to remove Windows Tweaking Utility.
